RULES OF THE LAKE

 

 

GARNER LAKE IS FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF LOT OWNERS OF LAKELAND ESTATES, EAST SHORES, WINDWARD SLOPES AND THE POINTE SUBDIVISIONS, THEIR FAMILIES AND HOUSE GUESTS.

 

BOATING:
*          ALL BOATS (INCLUDING FISHING BOATS) MUST HAVE A LIGHT ON BETWEEN DUSK AND DAWN (NO EXCEPTIONS).
*          Ten (10) HP motors or less are recommended for use on the Lake.
*          IN NO CASE shall a motor greater than fifteen (15) HP be permitted on the Lake.
*          Sailboats always have the right-of-way.
*          No water skiing or pulling anyone on floats, etc., is permitted.
*          All preschoolers and other non-swimmers must wear appropriate flotation devices when on the lake.
*          When cruising, stay at least 25 feet from shore and run at speeds to minimize wakes and maintain a reasonable distance from fishermen and swimmers.
*          All floating vessels must display a current decal from Lake Management Association on the starboard side of the bow for Lakeland Estates, East Shores and Windward Slopes residents. Residents of The Pointe must display a current decal from The Pointe also on the starboard side of the bow.
*          Only boats belonging to lot owners may be used on the lake.
*          Boat ramps are for your use.  Do not block homeowners’ driveways.
*          Boat trailers must be returned to the owner’s lot as soon as the boat is launched.  Trailers left near a ramp may be removed at the trailer owner’s expense.

 

FISHING:
*          Fishing is permitted in the entire lake.  Permission from property owner is required to fish from seawalls or decks.
*          No jug fishing nor trot line fishing is permitted.
*          No fishing is permitted from the dam.
*          Bank fishing is permitted at boat launch areas and other designated common areas with identification showing you to be a lot owner, family member or house guest.
*          All bass between fourteen (14) inches and twenty (20) inches in length must be returned to the lake immediately.
*          Possession limit for bass of proper size is five (5) fish per person per day, of which only one (1) may be greater than 20 inches in length.
*          Possession limit for crappie is fifteen (15) fish per person per day of any length.

 

GENERAL:
*          The Lake Ranger has the authority to enforce all Rules of the Lake as well as to regulate all behavior which might cause danger, nuisance or annoyance to others.  The Lake Ranger can also contact the authorities, should it become necessary on behalf of Lake Management Association.
*          Inspect your vessel tie-off lines regularly to ensure quality and stability.  Because of insurance policies, the Lake Ranger is NOT allowed to retrieve drifting vessels.  Watercraft are the sole responsibility of the owner.
*          Sound carries over water.  Refrain from loud noises on the water after 10pm.
*          Do not litter the lake.  All debris should be disposed of properly.
*          RULES OF THE LAKE may be updated, revised or changed as deemed necessary and prudent.
*          Lot owners may lose lake privileges if appropriate Lake Fees are more than ninety (90) days overdue.

 

LMA shall be held harmless for any accident which may occur while you are using the Lake.  Lot owners, their families and house guests may use the Lake for fishing, boating or swimming, but always at their own risk.

The Pointe decals may be purchased from The Pointe Homeowners Association.
